Making A Purchase
Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order. You will then be directed to PayPal, to securely enter your card payment details. Please note that we cannot accept any other forms of payment, for example cheques or money orders.
When confirmation of an order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.
Nothing in this agreement affects your statutory rights.
We may change any part of the website including the terms and conditions, at any time and without prior notice at our sole discretion. By placing an order on the website, you indicate acceptance of these changes and terms and conditions.
Substitutes:
If an item is only available in alternative sizes to the quantity ordered, we will endeavour to supply an equal or greater quantity or refund the difference in price.
Where the same brand is not available, we will substitute with a suitable alternative brand, or product, to equal or greater value wherever possible, at no extra cost to our customer. If we have to send an alternative product of less value, we will refund the difference to our customer.
Product:
All descriptions, weights, dimensions and other details of any goods made available on this site are those of the original manufacturers and are intended only to provide a general description of the goods. Accordingly, any such description shall not form part of this agreement.
Taxes & Duties:
The customer is responsible for the payment of any import duties, taxes and any other local charges levied in the country of residence. We have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they might be. For further advice and information please contact your local customs office.
Customs:
You acknowledge that for any goods you order from us:
a) You are over the legal age..
b) That the goods are not prohibited in your country of residence.
c) Expat Essentials cannot be held responsible or offer refunds for any goods delayed, lost or damaged by Customs in your country of residence.
Delivery:
We will normally despatch your order within 3-4 business days (up to 5 days during peak demand). Deliveries will be made by our appointed distribution partner to the delivery address stipulated on your order. It is your responsibility to ensure that you or someone you appoint will be available to receive and sign for your delivery.
The expected transit times shown on our website are an approximation only and whilst every effort will be made to effect the delivery of your order we cannot be held responsible for delays or damages outside our control, such as intervention by Customs in your country of residence.

Credit Card Security:
As a company that does business solely over the internet, we understand the importance of our customers' security and take this responsibility very seriously. When your order is placed through our website, your card payment is then made through our payment service provider; PayPal. All credit card numbers are encrypted using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) 128 bit encryption technology and PayPal meets all the latest PCI security requirements. Please note that Expat Essentials does not hold any card numbers whatsoever.
Privacy Policy:
Expat Essentials does not disclose buyers' information to any third parties other than when order details are processed as part of the order fulfillment and required by our carriers. Please see the link to our Privacy Policy at the foot of the page for more information.
Cookies are used on this shopping site to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart, to store delivery addresses if the address book is used and to store your details if you select the 'Remember Me' Option. They are also used after you have logged on as part of that process. You can turn off cookies within your browser by going to 'Tools | Internet Options | Privacy' and selecting to block cookies, however, if you turn off cookies, you will be unable to place orders or benefit from the other features on our website that need to use cookies.
Returns Policy:
Under the EU Distance Selling Directive which can be found at http://www.hmso.gov.uk/si/si2000/20002334.htm, you have the right to return certain goods by advising us of your cancellation in writing within 14 working days of your order being delivered, and is subject to the following conditions:
1) The goods remain in their original condition and packaging and have not been tampered with in any way.
2) The cost of returning the goods rests with you, the buyer.*
3) We regret that we cannot accept general returns of perishable foodstuffs or products which may pose a hygiene/health risk, such as baby formula, or any items which have been ordered/commissioned to your personal specifications.*
